Monochrome

sweater tunic - black pants (old from old navy) - t-strap sandals - bag (old from h&m)
Yesterday, I checked out the newly renovated riverwalk in the Loop! I so wish I still worked in the Leo Burnett building, so I could take my lunches here. So gorgeous and there's really something to being so close to the water and experiencing just a tiny bit of nature in the city. Also, seeing the beautiful architecture along the river from a different angle. I haven't been into the Loop for leisure in a long long time. I always feel so touristy when I do, but I embrace it, ha. I've only ever worked in the Loop, and the thought of commuting downtown on the weekend never comes to mind.

I also got a haircut! I got a sort of lob style, and the last time I had my hair this short was in the 3rd grade. I don't really do anything to my hair to style it, but now that it's much shorter, I feel like it might be a little easier to do something cute with it every once in a while.

Yesterday's outfit was a monochrome look. I wish I had worn something a little bit more summer. I totally misjudged the weather, since we were coming off the heels of a week straight of just thunderstorms. This next week is supposed to be rainy as well. The weather has been so odd lately - it doesn't really feel like summer.

  1. Ooh that looks like a nice walk to do. I like how the river is so close to the high-rises, it's an interesting contrast.

  2. Does this river freeze in the winter? These bridge-type walks/sites are becoming popular; it reminds me somewhat of the New York High Line but along the river (it combines architecture, gathering space, and a short type of trail--about 1-2 miles of walking.)

    1. Oh you bet it freezes. It steams up in the winter too, since the water's still warm, which is pretty cool to see. The riverwalk here took years to build, I feel like. It was always under construction every time I walked past the gates.
